Nick Bacon

We want to inform you that Nick Bacon has been promoted to his eternal and permanent duty station, as of 6:20 a.m., Saturday, July 17. The funeral will be at the veterans' cemetary in Little Rock Arkansas, this coming Saturday, July 24.  We thank you for holding Nick up in your prayers over these last months, and now encourage you to remember Tammy and the family.  Nan and I had the privilege of visiting Nick and Tammy about a month ago, and his spirit was strong—the warrior in him was quite evident.  He has fought his last battle, and is now gathered in those hallowed halls of heroes above, with all the greats of history.  I spoke to Tammy earlier today from Perth, and she has a great sense of the Lord's presence and peace of heart.  Nick was a very great personal friend, and I will miss him not only for this, but for his role on the board of Basic Training Bible Ministries.  The board has already decided to hold Nick as a member in absentia, and will remember him with honor at every future meeting.  Please pray for me as I cut my journey here in Australia short, leaving only a couple of days to visit Wil and family, to return and present the Gospel at Nick's funeral.  Pray that, as a final token of friendship, I may speak on his behalf to many who will attend without the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.  Thank you all again for your prayers.
