Dare I set myself aside,
And with the Spirit match my stride?
Dare rely alone on grace,
And with endurance run the race?
Dare I focus on the track,
And never once be looking back?
Dare I drive with pounding heart,
To the finish from the start?
Dare I leave the path of ease,
Dare my Lord alone to please?
Dare I glory in my pain,
Count as loss all earthly gain?
Do I dare His Word to trust,
When I find the world unjust?
Dare I pray that I be humbled,
Dare press on when I have stumbled?
Dare I run so as to win,
Dare lay aside my weight of sin?
Only if I run this race,
Dare I look upon His face!
